Our History

Robert and Bessie Neal Jones raised their son, Arthur A. ‘Buck’ Jones, on their farm in Matthews, Georgia.  Buck attended Auburn University in pursuit of a degree in Veterinary medicine, but a visit to a family member’s nursery inspired the farmer within.  After graduation, Buck and the former Mary Jane Ennis, now Mrs. Buck Jones, moved back to Matthews.  He was to spend the coming years learning the “green industry” by working for various nurseries and nursery suppliers until 1972, when he started Arthur A. Jones & Associates, Inc. from his Snellville, Georgia home.

Over the years, Buck watched his company grow and flourish into what it is today – one of Atlanta’s largest, oldest, and most respected suppliers of nursery and landscape supplies.  Buck Jones truly enjoyed his time in the horticulture industry and all of the friends that he made along the way. He received great satisfaction from helping to improve the world through horticulture and through the way he inspired others to live their lives.

Since 1972, we have worked to make our friends successful, both in the landscape industry and in the home landscape. Our sales staff has over 100 years of combined experience in the horticulture industry. A very diverse company, Buck Jones specializes as a quality wholesaler, grower and broker of container and field-grown nursery stock, trees, shrubs and grass sod, along with an extensive line of hard-line materials and tools.
